Got a question? Here are some answers to common questions we get about our shop and how the process works!
Do I drop off at my dog's appointment time or before then?
You can drop off anytime before your appointment time, or at your appointment time, just try not to be late!
How late can I be before I've missed my apppointment?
We will usually call to make sure you're still coming about 5-10 minutes passed your appointment time, at 15 minutes late, depending on the situation we may still do a full haircut, or we may only have time for a bath. 20-30 minutes late and we may be able to do a bath, or we may not have time to complete the groom.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us 24 hours or more notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. please note that we do charge 50% of your dogs requested grooming services if you call to change or cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, and if you miss your appointment without calling or texting us, we charge 100%. We will usually be flexible if you communicate with us, so be sure to reach out if anything has come up!
My dog is not spayed/ neutered. Is that okay?
Because we are cage-free, the dogs all mingle together. This means we have to be very careful with intact males in our shop. We can accommodate boys who have not been neutered, but usually before the shop opens or after hours when all the dogs have gone home, and there is an additional fee.
What vaccines are required?
Rabies is the only vaccine that is required for your dog to be groomed here, but we highly recommend you also keep your pup up-to-date on Bordatella, Parvo, Distemper, and Giardia, as these are all prevalent in Colorado and your dog will be around other dogs while they are here. We also recommend a flu shot to help protect your doggo against this mysterious respiratory illness. Please follow all advice from your vet.
Are there any grooming services you don't perform?
Yes there are! Because we strive to make this process as gentle and pain free for your doggo as possible, we refrain from performing certain services that are known to cause harm, and we refer you to your vet if those services are needed. Some of these services include:
-Plucking of the hair in the ear canal
-Carding
-Widespread de-matting
-Anal Gland Expression
-Shaving of a double coated dog
-Blackhead/ abscess extraction
-Washing/ grooming a dog with an open wound
-Washing/ grooming a dog with eye or ear infections
What's included in the basic bath and brush?
The basic Bath and Brush service includes shampoo and conditioner, hand blow-dry, brush out any tangles, clip and file nails, clean ears, and brush teeth.
What's included in the Full Service Haircut?
The Full Service Haircut includes everything that we do in the basic bath and brush plus an all-over haircut of your choosing.
Do you groom cats?
No, Meggo's only grooms dogs. We do have recommendations for quality cat groomers, however.
